Name: Loki Laufeyson Door: Door Pass Canon: MCU & Disney+ Loki TV Show Canon Point: Post Season 1 Age: Over 1k years old (old enough to know better) Appearance: Look at this smarmy fucker. History: A very long link CR AU (Optional): n/a Personality: CARING: This is like a new thing that Loki is trying out where he actually gives a damn about other people. It started with Mobius, who made overtures towards being his friend despite knowing every shitty, backstabby thing Loki had ever done, and it has culminated in Sylvie, who is like him but still her own person and has led a very different life from his cushy princely one wherein he suffered from emotional neglect despite having all his needs and most of his whims catered to. He can expand this toward other people, he just needs an 'in' first. He needs to know them to care about them, essentially, but now that he's going through this internal reformation process where he's trying to at least not be the galaxy's biggest jerk at all times, it doesn't take much more than that. ARROGANT: He's arrogant. As hell, right off the bat. He's very self-involved and incredibly vain. He's also spoiled, if not only by the circumstances of his raising then by the use of magic to get what he wants or needs immediately when he wants it. Minor annoyance? Magic it away. Major annoyance? Probably a person, pretend to be them and essentially magic it away. He has never washed a dish or had a job in his long, long life and it's glaringly apparent whenever he is in a position wherein Loki has to actively work towards something instead of just plotting and using magic. He whines about it when walking maybe a mile on Lamentis-1. He demands that the TVA treat him differently because of who he is and what he can do. He attempts to take over an entire planet, at one point. Granted, a lot of his arrogance has to do with being a demigod. Have you met a non-arrogant demigod? (I haven't.) Something about having people worship you is probably bad for the arrogance scale. SELFISH: Historically Loki has put his own needs and desires far and away ahead of the needs and desires of anyone else. Even the people he loves and cares about, deep down. This became especially true after he learned of his heritage, but was true even before that point, as demonstrated by Loki feeling slighted by Odin for not being the shining son as his brother Thor was, so he goes through this whole song and dance of betraying the both of them. When he's caught in the repercussions of his schemes he's not one to exactly pump the breaks either, tending instead to go on to the most dramatic conclusion possible. For instance, faking his own death. Because he wants to be the center of attention in all things. HUBRISTIC: This may be considered part and parcel of being vain and arrogant but it has a bit more to do with believing that none of his schemes could go wrong. That he's not only the best and smartest in the room, but that he actually has the most awesome and most coherent ideas. This is all despite the fact that he's been shown, time and again, both by his own lived history and by the TVA that his schemes don't come to much in the end. But once Loki has a Plan, a Glorious Purpose as it were, he tends to be hard put to change it even when confronted with plain sense. See: wanting to stab a smoke monster to death. Dunno how he thought that was gonna go down, but he definitely thought it was a great plan up until Sylvie pointed out that it was a shit one. Powers and Abilities: Abilities: There are so many of these and I'm very sorry Increased strength, stamina, speed, agility, durability, heightened senses, longevity (meaning he lives longer than humans), and cold immunity. Loki possesses these abilities above and beyond the typical human by virtue of not... being human and being a frost giant who looks like an Asgardian instead. Powers: Skills: Combat-wise, Loki is good at daggers. Like. Scarily good. Considering how long he's been alive and fighting, these skills encompass blades of other sizes as well. He's a pretty good hand-to-hand fighter too. Loki is also very intelligent. Good at keeping track of a lot of moving parts, and also lies. Very good at keeping track of lies. Loki is good at tactics and manipulation. He's also an excellent thief and pickpocket. Inventory: Two daggers he cares about very much and nothing else. Samples: Sample 1, with some thinking in there. Sample 2: [ Loki has practiced using this device, which means there's a series of half-started announcements saved on it that he hasn't made public. More than a few of them start with the camera pointed in entirely the wrong direction or orientation. Mostly because the technology is... relatively new to him. He's seen similar things but has never had much reason to use it when he can just cast a projection of himself at the person he wishes to speak to. However, for announcing himself to a group, the city at large? It's not terrible. The man who appears on screen has dark, slightly curly hair, green eyes full of mischief, and smiling. ] Hello, dear city. I have a question. While I understand there are a great many things to dislike about the situation we find ourselves in, here... the overwhelming use of aphrodisiacs, the strict social striation, the necessity of labor, the fact that we can't leave of our own will and volition... What I wish to know is what you like about the city. Whatever you enjoy about it. This could be, for instance, enjoying the company of people you may have otherwise never met, or it can be something more complicated than that, but I am curious. Will you tell me? |
